Reasons Why a Home Business Can Fail

A home based business is just like any other business - it takes hard work and good products or services, and it takes time to make a profit.  There is no easy road to wealth. 

1.  At DreamersWin.com, we put "dream stealers" at the top of the list.

No matter what we try to do in our personal, career, or educational endeavors in life, there will always be someone, somewhere, who will try to knock us down or put us down.

Let's face it, there are people out there who are totally satisfied with their current situation and really have no desire to strive to do any better.  Actually, they are in a rut.  Well, people in a rut like company.  The term "misery loves company" is actually true.

We must always be very careful with whom we share our goals and dreams.

2.  Choosing the wrong company to represent.

How credible and reliable is the company with whom we are working ?  How long has the company actually been in business ?  Does the company have a lot of debt ?  There are people out there who will set up "bogus" companies, with fantastic websites, but as soon as they get your money, they disappear.  The best advice here is to check out the company - Better Business Bureau,

U. S. Chamber of Commerce, Professional Associations, etc.- before you decide to join their marketing program.

3.  Wrong Expectations

Many companies will promise you that you really don't have to do anything, but sit on the couch and count your money.  They will advertise - No Selling !  No Prospecting

!  No Work !  Basically, this is a lot of rubbish.  When did you ever get something for nothing ?

Some people expect to get wealthy very quickly, then when it doesn't happen in a week or month, they get discouraged and quit.

Actually they didn't quit, because you can't quit something that you really never started.  Some expect a website to do all the work for them.  The internet only allows us to work more efficiently and effectively.  The real work comes from us, the difference is, we can do it from the comfort of our own home.

4.  Not being "Consistent" and "Persistent"

This actually goes hand-in-hand with "Wrong Expectations", but it goes a little deeper than that.  If we are really serious about starting a home business, we must realize that a certain amount of time must be devoted to that business.  It doesn't matter whether it's 10 hours or 40 hours per week, "time" on a consistent and persistent basis must be set aside for building the business.  We can't build a successful home business by only working in the business when we have some spare time.  Building a business is a learning process and we must constantly be willing to learn.  If anyone ever tells you that building a business with their company can be done in your sleep, the best thing to do is - run !

5.  No one to help train and provide support

There are e-books all over the internet, guaranteed to help build a business, but the real question here is  - Has the person who wrote the e-book ever built a successful business or does he/she just write books on the subject ?   To build a successful home business, there must be step-by-step training that not only tells, but also "shows" how to build the business.   There must be a strong support team and we must be able to have contact, at our convenience, with those who have built successful businesses.

Unfortunately, we still experience the "dream stealers" and we always will, no matter what we attempt to do in life.  But, we have an advantage . . .

As a home business owner, you will be surrounded by some of the most sincere, dedicated people you could possibly ever meet.  Yes, there are those who get in a "rut" and seem to want to stay there, but there are enough positive, guiding people within this organization, there is absolutely no reason to get down and stay down.
