Goals For Your Home Business Must Be Real, Achievable and Measurable.  Clearly Written Goals Will Help You Acheive Success Working at Home in Your Home Business.

If you were planning a trip across the United States, what is the first thing you would do ? 

Get a map, right ?

A clearly written goal is no more than a map which outlines the direction in which you are going in different areas of your life.

Do you currently have written goals for these areas of your life ?

• Your goal must be something you really want.

Remember, when you found that special person in your life ?  Your only thoughts were that your life could not be worthwhile without him or her.  Now you are spending your lives together.   It's that kind of passionate determination that makes a goal achievable, otherwise it's just a dream.

• Your goal must be written in detail.

"I want to have a more meaningful career." is not a goal.

Now, " I want a career in which I will make a minimum of $100,000 per year in an environment which I enjoy and have the opportunity to help other people, while I satisfy the financial needs of my family and build a better life for myself." . . . that's a clearly defined goal.

• Your goal must be high enough, yet achievable.

For example, to say that you want to be the CEO of a large corporation, when you only have a ninth grade education is high enough, but without further education, it's just not achievable.

You should aim high and even if you miss by a little, you will certainly be better off.

• Keep your written goal positive.

Make your written goal what you want, not what you want to leave behind.

• Your goal must be measurable.

In order to make $100,000 per year income, you normally must make $1,923 on a weekly basis; $8,333 on a monthly basis; and $25,000 on a quarterly basis.  Now, if you hit the lottery, this will change.  The point here is, even if you miss your goal on a weekly basis, you can make adjustments to insure that you are on schedule with your goal by the end of the month or quarter.

Here is where a lot of goals get trashed.  Oftentimes when we miss our monthly goal, we just give up and go back to business as usual.

Don't fall into this rut.
